Who are we?

We are young conservatives.

We are working, in school, college, or university. We want a strong economy so we can get jobs when school is done.  We are against our scholarships being considered “taxable income”.

We believe in greater accessibility to education by eliminating as many barriers to post-secondary education as possible.  We believe strongly that provincial jurisdiction must be respected. However, the federal government must play a role in addressing tuition and student loans to promote access to higher education.” Our leader, Mr. Stephen Harper, has said:

“A Conservative government would revamp the federal student loan program to eliminate the inclusion of parental income in the assessment of loan applications. A Conservative government would provide greater flexibility to students paying back federal student loans by investigating Income Contingent Loans. As the Millennium Scholarship Program currently only assists six per cent of students, a Conservative government would channel these funds into the student loan program to help more students obtain
post-secondary education.”

We believe we can make Canada a better place through conservative policies, including a freer market, a made-in-Canada environmental protection plan, lower taxes that will stimulate economic growth, and a strong national defense policy that will protect our sovereignty and permit us to promote our values and interests abroad.

We are young professionals.  We are labour workers.  We are farmers. We are your neighbours. We are idealists who believe in democracy, the rule of law, and social justice.  We know we can make a significant difference in the world only if our country is taken seriously and if our soldiers are properly funded.

We believe that Prime Minister Harper has a vision for this country that will bring integrity back to the political process and encourage more young people to get involved.
